My first encounter with PCOS happened in 2016, at the age of 29, when I ended up in the emergency room due to a raptured ovarian cyst. During a follow-up consultation with my gynecologist I was informed that I had insulin resistance. She prescribed me the birth control pill, metformin, gave me some multi-vitamins and told me to stop eating carbs. At that point in my life I didn’t know how to help myself. Doctors are trying their best, but PCOS is a syndrome a lot of practitioners still know very little about and they are only trained in prescribing medication (except for functional medicine and naturopathic doctors). PCOS is also difficult to diagnose. Nevertheless, it is manageable by living a holistic and sustainable PCOS-friendly lifestyle.

How my journey continued

 

After that day, when I ended up in the emergency room because of my raptured ovarian cyst and the follow-up visit with my gynecologist a few days later where I was told to stop eating carbs and given some pills, I went on a journey to educate myself on PCOS. I read dozens of books, did research online and became a certified health coach and hormonal health expert.  I was able to help myself heal from insulin resistance, lose weight and get rid of my ovarian cysts. I conquered emotional eating and feeling tired and depressed all the time. I was able to regrow my hair and get rid of hormonal acne. At some point of my career as a health coach I started specialising in coaching women with PCOS. Since then I have helped many cysters  heal from their symptoms.
